VIP Travel Agency Services in Turkey — The History Travel Agency
Protocol-grade travel planning for heads of state, ministries, embassies, consulates, corporations, football clubs and private luxury travellers. One Istanbul-based team coordinating transport, accommodation, guiding, events and hospitality across 122 destinations in Türkiye.
Turkey Travel Agency & Tour Operator — Private, Small Group & Package Tours
Some journeys carry consequences. A minister lands at 06:40 and must be at a bilateral meeting by 09:00. A championship squad of fifty-two people needs the same hotel, the same coach and the same meal schedule for eleven nights. A family celebrating a golden wedding anniversary has waited forty years for this fortnight and will not get a second attempt. In each of these cases the itinerary is not a wish list — it is an operational commitment, and it either holds or it does not.
The History Travel Agency exists for exactly that category of travel. Founded in Istanbul in 2007 by two working professional tour guides, the agency was built on a simple conviction: that mass tourism flattens a country as remarkable as Türkiye, and that the alternative is not a bigger brochure but a smaller, more attentive way of arranging things. Two decades later we operate as a full destination management company across 122 destinations — while the person who answers your first message is still the person who answers at midnight on day nine.
This page is not a booking form for a single excursion. It is a complete reference to what a VIP travel agency in Türkiye actually does: who we serve, which services we coordinate, where in the country we operate, how the work is structured, and what distinguishes a licensed local operator from a distant reseller. Read it in full and you will know precisely what you are commissioning before you send a single inquiry.

What a VIP Agency Really Is
The eight disciplines — luxury management, diplomatic service, government support, corporate travel, DMC work, events, transport and guiding — and how they interlock inside one contract.

What Is a VIP Travel Agency in Turkey?
The phrase gets used loosely. Plenty of websites attach “VIP” to an airport transfer in a clean car. The working definition is narrower and more demanding: a VIP travel agency is a licensed operator that takes single-point responsibility for a programme — every movement, every reservation, every host and every contingency — for guests whose time, privacy or security carries a premium.
That responsibility is what people are actually buying. Anyone can book a hotel room. Very few organisations can tell you, three weeks before a delegation lands, exactly who will be standing at the aircraft door, which lane the convoy will take, what happens if the ministry moves a meeting by ninety minutes, and who pays if a supplier fails. Below are the eight disciplines that make that possible, all of which we deliver in-house or through directly contracted partners.
Luxury Travel Management
Designing journeys where the standard of accommodation, transport, guiding and dining is set once and then held consistently from arrival to departure — including the unglamorous parts, like making sure the 5am transfer driver is as presentable as the evening one.
Diplomatic Travel Services
Working to the rhythms of missions: note verbale timelines, protocol seniority, flag and seating conventions, interpreter provision, and the discretion that diplomatic guests expect as a baseline rather than an extra.
Government Delegation Support
Handling official visits where the schedule is set by someone else and changes without notice. Our job is to absorb those changes invisibly so the delegation experiences a single, calm programme.
Corporate Travel Management
Executive movements, board meetings, investor visits and incentive programmes — delivered with the documentation, cost transparency and invoicing that a finance department needs to sign off without argument.
Destination Management
The ground-handling layer: sourcing, contracting and supervising every local supplier in every city on the programme, so the client manages one relationship instead of thirty.
Event Management
Venue sourcing, guest registration, catering, staging, entertainment, branding and the logistics that surround an event — plus the travel that brings everyone to it, which is where most events quietly fail.
VIP Transportation
Executive saloons, VIP minivans, full-size coaches, meet-and-assist at the aircraft, and coordination of helicopter or private aviation legs where distance makes road travel impractical.
Private Guided Experiences
Ministry-licensed guides who can read a room — adjusting depth, pace and subject matter for a specialist audience, a restless family or a delegation running forty minutes behind.
A test worth applying to any agency: ask who your named coordinator is, what their mobile number is, and whether they will be reachable at 3am local time on the third night of your programme. The answer separates operators from intermediaries faster than any brochure.

Private Aviation
Private Jet Travel Coordination
Türkiye is a large country pretending to be a compact one. Istanbul to Şanlıurfa is a two-hour flight or a fifteen-hour drive; Bodrum to Cappadocia is a full day lost on the road. For travellers whose calendar is the binding constraint, private aviation is not indulgence — it is the only way a six-region itinerary fits inside a week.
We do not own aircraft and we do not pretend to. What we do is coordinate the ground reality around your charter: selecting departure and arrival fields, arranging FBO and private terminal access where it exists, synchronising the car that meets the aircraft, managing crew accommodation, and building the rest of the itinerary around slot times rather than hoping they align. Aircraft are contracted through established Turkish and international operators; we handle the interface so you are not managing three companies at once.

Rotary Transfers
Helicopter Transfers & Scenic Flights
A helicopter does two quite different jobs, and it is worth being clear which one you are buying. The first is compression: a transfer that collapses a three-hour drive into twenty-five minutes, which matters when a delegation has a hard 14:00 commitment and the Istanbul traffic has other ideas. The second is spectacle — and Türkiye happens to be exceptionally well suited to it.
Over Istanbul, the city finally makes sense from the air: the historic peninsula compressed into a single dense triangle, the Bosphorus threading between two continents, the great bridges, the waterfront palaces laid out like a drawn plan. Over Cappadocia, the fairy chimneys and the eroded valleys read as a single carved landscape rather than a series of viewpoints. Along the Turkish Riviera, the coastline unspools in turquoise bays and pine-backed headlands that no coastal road can show you properly.

Ground Fleet
Executive Transportation & VIP Car Hire
Ground transport is where VIP programmes are most often quietly ruined. Not by catastrophe — by a driver who does not speak the guest's language, a vehicle that arrives twenty minutes late to a 05:40 airport run, or a route chosen without regard for a road closure that every local knows about. These failures do not make the incident report. They simply make the guest tense for the rest of the day.
We treat the driver as part of the hosting team, not a commodity. Vehicles are matched to party size and purpose: executive saloons for two or three, VIP minivans with high-back seating for families and small delegations, and full-size coaches for squads and conference groups. Airport work includes meet-and-assist inside the terminal with a name board, luggage handling, and a coordinator tracking the flight rather than the scheduled time. Istanbul VIP van hire with driver is available as a standalone service for clients who need transport only.

Marine Charter
Luxury Yacht Charters & Boat Hire
There is a specific hour on the Bosphorus — roughly forty minutes either side of sunset — when the light turns the Asian shore amber, the ferries thin out, and the muezzins begin calling across the water from both continents at once. Guests who have spent three days being impressed by monuments tend to go quiet at this point. It is the single most reliable moment in Istanbul hospitality, and it happens from the water.
We charter privately for anything from a two-hour cocktail cruise to a full-day coastal programme: Bosphorus and Golden Horn routings, Princes' Islands crossings, Black Sea runs, and gulet or motor-yacht charters along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts. On board we arrange catering, live music, photography, branding for corporate use, and swimming stops in the summer months. It works equally well as a board dinner, a reception for eighty, a wedding ceremony or an anniversary evening for two. Related: Bosphorus sunset cruise and hourly private yacht hire.

Accommodation
Luxury Hotels, Resorts & Exclusive Stays
The hotel is where a guest spends a third of the trip and forms most of their opinion of it. Our approach is to match the property to the purpose rather than to the star rating. A delegation with 07:00 meetings in Levent should not be housed in Sultanahmet for the views, however beautiful the building; a honeymoon couple should not be in a business hotel because it happened to be on the corporate rate sheet.
Türkiye's luxury inventory is genuinely varied. Historic city hotels occupy restored Ottoman mansions and nineteenth-century apartment buildings in Beyoğlu and the old city. Waterfront properties sit directly on the Bosphorus with ferry traffic passing the breakfast terrace. Boutique houses of fifteen or twenty rooms offer service that larger properties structurally cannot. The cave hotels of Cappadocia are carved into volcanic tuff that has been inhabited for over a thousand years, now fitted with underfloor heating and proper bathrooms. Coastal resorts in Bodrum, Fethiye and Antalya offer private beaches, villas and full wellness facilities.

Culinary
Fine Dining & Culinary Experiences
Turkish cuisine is not one cuisine. It is the accumulated kitchen of Ottoman palace cooking, Anatolian village tradition, Aegean olive-oil dishes, Black Sea cornbread and anchovies, and the heavily spiced repertoire of the south-east around Gaziantep and Hatay. A well-built itinerary uses that variety deliberately, so that by day seven guests have eaten five distinctly different regional meals rather than the same mezze plate five times.
We arrange private dining rooms with bespoke menus, Bosphorus-side tables timed for the evening skyline, dinners inside restored historic buildings, and chef-led tastings for guests who want to understand what they are eating. Practical matters are handled without drama: halal, kosher-style, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and allergy requirements are confirmed with the kitchen in writing before arrival — a small thing that repeatedly turns out to matter enormously.

Service 07
Personal Support
Concierge & Personal Assistant Services
The value of a concierge is measured in decisions you do not have to make. Where to eat on the one free evening. Whether the museum is open on Monday. How to get a suit pressed before a 19:00 reception. Which of four gift shops sells something genuinely worth taking home. Individually these are trivial; cumulatively, over ten days, they are the difference between a trip that felt restful and one that felt like administration.
For longer or higher-profile programmes we assign a dedicated assistant who travels with the party or remains on call throughout. They hold the schedule, absorb the changes, liaise with hotels and venues in Turkish, and act as the single point of contact for everything that is not already on the itinerary. Delegations frequently describe this as the service they did not know to ask for and would not now travel without.
Türkiye has been in the bathing business for two thousand years, and it shows. The Roman thermal pools at Pamukkale and Hierapolis are still fed by the same mineral springs that drew invalids from across the ancient world. The hammam tradition that followed is not a spa treatment with historical decoration — it is a functioning social institution, and an hour in a properly run sixteenth-century hammam does something a hotel massage room cannot replicate.
Alongside that heritage sits a modern industry: coastal wellness resorts in Bodrum and Antalya with full medical spa facilities, thermal centres at Yalova and Afyon, and mountain retreats where the programme is simply clean air, silence and long walks. We build these in as recovery days inside demanding itineraries — after four days of sites, guests need one — or as the entire purpose of the trip.

Bespoke Design
Customised VIP Itineraries
No two clients want the same week, and the fixed departure model quietly forces them to pretend otherwise. We start instead from four questions: how many days do you genuinely have on the ground, what must happen, what would you regret missing, and how hard do you want to work? The itinerary is built backwards from those answers.
Five itinerary families cover most requests. Imperial Istanbul stays in one city and goes deep — Byzantine and Ottoman layers, private access where it can be arranged, Bosphorus evenings, and enough unstructured time to actually absorb it. Cappadocia Luxury Discovery pairs cave accommodation with sunrise ballooning, private valley walking and regional cooking. Archaeological Heritage follows the ancient world through Ephesus, Pergamon, Troy, Aphrodisias and Hierapolis with specialist guides. Turkish Riviera Escape is coast, yacht and resort. Grand Türkiye connects four or more regions by internal flight into one continuous programme.

Not Sure Which Services You Actually Need?
Most clients arrive with a date, a headcount and a rough ambition — that is entirely enough to start. Tell us those three things and we will come back with a structured proposal showing what a programme would involve, what it would cost, and what we would advise against.
Official travel is judged by a different standard. A leisure guest forgives a fifteen-minute delay; a bilateral meeting does not. This is the part of our work that runs on written confirmations, named accountability and rehearsed contingencies.
We support ministries, parliamentary delegations, embassies, consulates, permanent missions, international organisations and trade bodies visiting or hosting in Türkiye. The common thread across all of them is that the schedule belongs to someone else — a counterpart ministry, a summit secretariat, a security detail — and can change at short notice. Our function is to build a programme with enough structural slack that those changes are absorbed without the delegation ever feeling them.
Discretion is assumed rather than promised. Delegate names, movement schedules, accommodation details and meeting locations are held on a need-to-know basis within our team, shared with suppliers only to the minimum extent required, and never used in marketing material. We are happy to work under a non-disclosure agreement and to accept a mission's own data-handling requirements.

A note on scope. We are a licensed travel and destination management company, not a security contractor. We coordinate closely with the security teams appointed by your mission or by the Turkish authorities, and we plan movements around their requirements — but we do not provide close protection, armoured vehicles or armed personnel, and we will tell you plainly when a requirement falls outside what a travel agency should be handling.
Business Travel
Corporate Travel Management in Türkiye
Holdings, multinationals, banks, manufacturers and professional firms use us as their ground operator in Türkiye — for a two-person board visit or a nine-hundred-delegate convention.
Corporate work has a different failure mode from leisure travel. The risk is rarely that someone has a disappointing afternoon; it is that a signing is missed, a factory visit collapses because nobody arranged site access, or a finance team receives an invoice they cannot reconcile. We plan corporate programmes with that in mind — written schedules, named responsibilities, contingency routing, and documentation clean enough to survive an audit.
For companies with recurring Türkiye activity we hold standing arrangements: preferred hotels with negotiated rates, a consistent driver pool who already know your executives, and a coordinator who does not need the context re-explained each time. It is a small operational advantage that compounds noticeably over a year.
Programme Types
Executive travel. Discreet, efficient movement for senior leadership, often at short notice.
Board meetings. Private meeting space, secure documentation handling, controlled catering and no foot traffic.
Investor relations visits. Site tours, analyst briefings and hospitality that reflects the company properly.
Incentive travel. Reward programmes designed to be genuinely memorable rather than merely expensive.
Corporate retreats. Off-site working sessions in locations that change how people think.
Team-building programmes. Structured activity that is neither embarrassing nor pointless.
Product launches. Media-facing events with branding, staging and guest management.
Trade delegations. Sector visits, B2B matchmaking support and chamber liaison.
Business conferences. Full congress handling from registration through gala dinner.
How We Deliver It
Single point of contact. One coordinator owns your account, not a rotating queue.
Transparent quotation. Line-by-line costing so you can see what each element is.
Compliant invoicing. Proper Turkish invoices suitable for corporate expense and tax treatment.
Delegate management. Registration, rooming lists, arrival manifests and badge production.
Airport & transfer control. Live flight monitoring with drivers held for delayed arrivals.
Venue contracting. Negotiated directly, in Turkish, with recourse if a supplier under-delivers.
On-site staffing. Our people present throughout the programme, not just at the start.
Post-event reporting. Final reconciliation and attendance data where required.
Planning Notes From Our Coordinators
Practical observations from running corporate and official programmes in Türkiye — the things that are obvious once you have made the mistake, and expensive before that.
Build for Istanbul Traffic, Not Google Maps
A twelve-kilometre cross-city transfer can take twenty minutes at 06:00 and eighty at 17:30. We schedule against observed local conditions, not optimistic routing estimates, and we build a buffer before anything with a fixed start time.
Check the Calendar Before the Venue
Ramadan, the two Bayram holidays, national days and school holidays change hotel availability, restaurant hours, site crowding and staffing. Moving a programme by four days often improves it dramatically and costs nothing.
Fly Between Regions, Drive Within Them
Türkiye rewards internal flights. Istanbul to Cappadocia or Izmir is roughly an hour in the air against nine to eleven on the road. Use the flights to buy back days, then travel by road locally where the scenery is the point.
Respect the Summer Heat
July and August at Ephesus or Pamukkale routinely pass 38°C with little shade. Move outdoor site visits to early morning, place indoor or coastal content in the afternoon, and never schedule a formal outdoor reception at midday.
Mosques Are Working Places of Worship
Visiting hours around the five daily prayers shift through the year and are tighter on Fridays. We time visits to avoid prayer, brief guests on dress expectations in advance, and carry scarves so nobody is caught out.
Reserve Entry, Not Just Intent
Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern and Cappadocia's balloon flights are all capacity-limited. Same-day entry is unreliable in season. Museum passes and timed tickets are arranged before you land.
Event & Celebration Management
Premium Event Management Services in Turkey
Fourteen event formats, one operating discipline: the guest should experience an evening, and never the machinery that produced it.
An event is a deadline with people attached. Unlike almost everything else in travel, it cannot be postponed by an hour, quietly re-routed or made good the next morning. Nine hundred guests arrive at 19:30 whether or not the sound desk works, the seating plan reflects last week's protocol changes and the kitchen understood that forty of them do not eat meat.
Our advantage in this work is that we already control the travel around it. The same team that books the flights, meets the guests at the airport, houses them, moves them to the venue and returns them afterwards is the team running the event itself. That eliminates the single most common cause of event failure, which is not incompetence — it is the seam between two suppliers, where nobody was quite sure whose responsibility something was.

Gala Dinners
The most exposed event a company or mission runs, because everyone senior is in the room at once and nothing can be repeated. Corporate Events
Annual gatherings, kick-off meetings, partner summits, networking evenings and internal conferences. Scaled from twenty people in a private room to full hotel buy-outs, with registration systems, branding and hospitality management throughout.
StrengthTravel, accommodation and event under one contract — no gaps between suppliers.
Official
Government Receptions
Protocol-led events for ministries, municipalities, embassies and public institutions. Precedence, flag placement, receiving lines, national anthems and interpretation are planned in writing and rehearsed rather than improvised on the night.
SupportAdvance site visits, security liaison, multilingual hosting staff, delegate transport management.
Celebration
Wedding Celebrations
Destination weddings on the Bosphorus, in Cappadocia's valleys, on Bodrum and Fethiye beaches, and at Antalya resorts. We handle the logistics — venue, guest accommodation, airport transfers, dinner, entertainment, photography — so the family can be guests at their own wedding.
AlsoMulti-day celebrations, henna nights, yacht ceremonies and honeymoon continuation.
Milestone
Graduation Celebrations
University and school celebrations combining a formal ceremony or dinner with a travel programme for visiting families. Popular as a Bosphorus cruise with dinner, or a weekend that lets relatives arriving from abroad see something of the country.
Typical scale30 to 400 guests, frequently with international family travel attached.
Personal
Anniversary Celebrations
Wedding anniversaries, company foundation anniversaries and personal milestones. These reward specificity — the restaurant where a couple met thirty years ago, a table at the exact hour of a proposal, a quiet arrangement nobody else notices.
FormatsPrivate yacht evenings, closed restaurant dinners, surprise arrangements at a hotel.
Traditional
Circumcision Celebrations
The sünnet düğünü is one of the most significant family celebrations in Turkish culture, and families travelling from abroad to hold one deserve a team that understands its conventions rather than treating it as a generic party.
ArrangementsVenue, traditional costume, procession, musicians, catering, photography and guest accommodation.
Brand
Product Launches
Automotive, technology, fashion, luxury goods and tourism campaigns. The event has to work for two audiences simultaneously — the guests in the room and the cameras that will carry it further — which changes staging, lighting and running order.
Academic congresses, medical conferences, scientific symposiums, trade association meetings and international conventions. We act as the destination management company alongside your PCO, or run the whole thing where there is no separate organiser.
Tournament hosting, fixture hospitality, fan travel programmes and sponsor activation. Sport runs on immovable kick-off times and large simultaneous movements, which makes transport planning the dominant discipline.
CoversTeam movement, stadium transfers, VIP lounges, supporter programmes, media hospitality.
Victory
Championship Celebrations
League titles, cup wins and promotion celebrations — often planned in two versions and confirmed within hours of a final whistle. We hold venues, catering and transport provisionally so the celebration can be triggered the moment the result is known.
RealityDual-scenario planning with contingency release, because the outcome is genuinely unknown.
Cultural
Cultural Events
Concerts, exhibition openings, film and festival hospitality, whirling dervish ceremonies and Ottoman-themed evenings. We also arrange authentic performance programmes as the entertainment component inside larger corporate and official events.
NoteSema ceremonies are religious observances; we arrange them respectfully, through authorised venues only.
Scale
Large-Scale Public Events
Festivals, national day celebrations, municipal programmes and mass-participation gatherings. At this scale the work shifts from hospitality to logistics: crowd flow, phased arrivals, permitting, marshalling and coordination with local authorities.
RequiresLonger lead times, municipal permissions and formal contingency planning.
How an Event Programme Runs
Stage 1
Brief. Objective, date, headcount, budget range and the one thing that absolutely must go right. Usually a thirty-minute call.
Stage 2
Concept & costing. Two or three venue options with an outline programme and a line-by-line budget, delivered in writing.
Stage 3
Site inspection. You visit the shortlist, or we film it for you if travel beforehand is not practical.
Stage 4
Contracting. Venue and suppliers secured under our contracts, with deposits and cancellation terms stated plainly.
Stage 5
Detailed planning. Running order, floor plan, seating, menus, AV, branding, staffing and the full transport schedule.
Stage 6
Rehearsal. Technical run-through on site, plus a walked version of the guest journey from vehicle to table.
Stage 7
Delivery. Our team on site from set-up to departure, with one named person holding overall control.
Stage 8
Reconciliation. Final account against the agreed budget, with any variance explained and evidenced.
Sports Travel
Football Clubs & Sporting Organisations
Moving a squad is not moving a tour group. Fifty-two people, restricted diets, a fixed kick-off, a kit truck, a medical team and a press officer — all of which must arrive together and in condition to perform.
Türkiye has become a standing fixture on the European football calendar, and not only for matches. Antalya's winter training camp corridor hosts hundreds of professional clubs between December and February, drawn by pitches that are playable when northern Europe is frozen, hotels built specifically for squad occupation, and a short flight from almost anywhere in Europe. We support clubs, federations, leagues, associations, sponsors and supporters' groups travelling for all of it.
The operational demands are specific. Meal timings are set by the sports science staff, not the hotel. Rooming is decided by the coaching staff and can change after a team meeting. The coach must be at the stadium on a police-agreed route at a police-agreed time. Media obligations sit in the same window as recovery. A travel partner who does not understand these constraints will keep proposing arrangements that are impossible, which wastes everyone's time.

Championship planning works differently. A title celebration cannot be confirmed until the result is known, but it also cannot be organised in forty-eight hours. We solve this with dual-scenario planning: venues, catering and transport are held under provisional agreements with defined release dates and clearly stated cancellation costs. You pay a modest holding fee for the option, and you are ready either way.
Ground Operations
Destination Management Company Services in Türkiye
A DMC is the layer most travellers never see and every complex programme depends on: the local operator who contracts, supervises and answers for everything that happens on the ground.
The distinction matters commercially. When you book through an overseas agency or an online platform, someone in Türkiye is still doing the actual work — meeting the aircraft, driving the coach, unlocking the meeting room. You are simply several contractual steps away from them. That distance is invisible while everything runs smoothly, and becomes the entire problem the moment it does not: the person who can fix it does not work for the person you can call.
As a licensed Turkish destination management company we are that operator. Our contracts are with the hotels, the transport companies, the guides and the venues directly. When a supplier fails, we replace them the same day because we hold the relationship and the leverage. When something needs to be escalated to a municipality, a museum directorate or an airport authority, it is done in Turkish by someone who knows which office to call.
That reach now extends across 122 destinations — from the obvious anchors of Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus and Antalya to Mardin, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Kars, Van, Trabzon, Safranbolu and the eastern provinces that most operators will not quote for at all.
Multi-City Programmes
Sequencing several regions into one journey so that flights, hotels, guides and transfers interlock without a wasted half-day between them.
Customised Itineraries
Programmes built from the client's actual constraints — dates, interests, pace, budget and mobility — rather than adapted from a catalogue.
Accommodation Sourcing
Direct contracting with properties nationwide, including group blocks, buy-outs and inventory in cities with limited quality supply.
Transport Management
Vehicles, drivers, routing and scheduling across every leg, with live oversight rather than a booking passed to a third party.
Guide Coordination
Assigning licensed guides by language, region and specialism, with briefing notes so each one knows who the group is and what matters to them.
Cultural Programmes
Performances, workshops, artisan visits and culinary experiences selected for authenticity rather than convenience.
Event Logistics
Venues, staging, catering, registration, staffing and the movement of people and materials that surrounds any event.
Group Travel
From twelve to several hundred, with rooming lists, manifests, sub-group splitting and the staffing ratios that large groups genuinely need.
Luxury Programmes
The premium tier of all of the above, delivered to a consistent standard from the airport meet to the final departure transfer.
Professional Guiding
Licensed Guide Services — The Difference It Makes
In Türkiye, professional tourist guiding is a regulated profession. Licensed guides complete formal training, pass state examinations, hold a Ministry of Culture and Tourism licence, and carry an identity card that is renewed through continuing professional development. It is not a formality: at most major sites, an unlicensed person leading a paying group is committing an offence, and the group can be stopped mid-visit.
The practical difference is larger than the legal one. A licensed guide has studied Byzantine architecture, Ottoman political history, classical archaeology and Anatolian religious traditions in depth. They can answer the unexpected question — the one from the visitor who happens to be a professor of late antiquity — instead of deflecting it. They can also read a group: when to go deeper, when a family with tired children needs to move on, and when a delegation running late needs the twelve-minute version delivered without any sense of compression.
The History Travel Agency was founded by two working guides, which is why this sits at the centre of what we do rather than at the edge. We field guides nationwide by language and specialism, and we brief every one of them on who the group is before they arrive.

Where We Operate
Luxury Destinations Across Türkiye
Twelve anchor destinations, described as they actually are. We operate in 122 in total — including many that larger operators decline to quote for.
Two Continents
Istanbul
Capital of two empires across sixteen centuries, and the only major city standing on two continents. The Hagia Sophia has been a cathedral, a mosque, a museum and a mosque again — each layer visible in the same room. Topkapı governed an empire from a series of garden courtyards; the Basilica Cistern still holds water beneath the traffic. Then the city turns and shows you Beyoğlu's bars, Kadıköy's markets and a ferry crossing that costs less than a coffee.
Best forOfficial visits, corporate programmes, gala venues, first-time itineraries
Three volcanoes buried central Anatolia in ash; ten million years of wind and water carved what remained into cones, ridges and chimneys. People then hollowed it out — churches with intact Byzantine frescoes, monasteries, and underground cities that sheltered thousands. At dawn the balloons go up, and the landscape does something no photograph has yet managed to convey.
Best forIncentive travel, honeymoons, unique event venues, luxury cave stays
The best-preserved classical city on the Mediterranean, and one of the few where you walk the original marble streets rather than a modern path beside them. The façade of the Library of Celsus still stands two storeys high; the Great Theatre seated twenty-four thousand. The Terrace Houses, under their protective canopy, preserve painted walls and mosaic floors from households that were abandoned mid-life.
Best forArchaeological itineraries, Christian heritage, cruise-day programmes
Calcium-rich springs have been depositing white travertine down this hillside for thousands of years, forming terraced pools that look artificial and are not. Above them stands Hierapolis, the Roman spa city that grew up around the same water, complete with a theatre and one of the largest ancient necropolises anywhere. You can still swim among submerged columns in the thermal pool.
Best forWellness programmes, classical touring, striking photography
The centre of the Turkish Riviera and the country's resort capital — but also a Roman city with Hadrian's Gate at the entrance to its old town, and a base for Perge, Aspendos and Side within an hour's drive. Aspendos has the finest surviving Roman theatre in the Mediterranean; it still hosts opera. Antalya is also the winter home of European football's training-camp circuit.
Best forConferences, resort events, football training camps, family holidays
Ancient Halicarnassus, birthplace of Herodotus and site of the Mausoleum — one of the Seven Wonders, quarried away centuries ago to build the Crusader castle that still dominates the harbour. Today the peninsula splits between the lively town and quieter bays at Türkbükü, Yalıkavak and Gümüşlük, with a marina scene that makes it the natural base for Aegean yacht charter.
Best forYacht charter, destination weddings, executive retreats
Home of Ölüdeniz, the lagoon that appears on most Türkiye posters and is genuinely that colour. Above it, Babadağ is one of the world's leading paragliding sites. Along the coast lie the rock-cut Lycian tombs at Dalyan and Kaş, the ghost village of Kayaköy, and the Lycian Way footpath running five hundred kilometres over the headlands.
Best forBeach weddings, gulet charters, active and adventure programmes
A different Türkiye entirely — green, wet, mountainous and forested. Sumela Monastery clings to a cliff face three hundred metres above the valley floor, founded in the fourth century and reachable only after a climb. Inland lie the yayla highland pastures and Uzungöl, a lake village beneath steep pine slopes. Popular with Gulf travellers escaping summer heat.
Best forSummer escapes, nature programmes, family groups from the Gulf
The first Ottoman capital, and the place to understand what the empire looked like before Istanbul. The Green Mosque and Green Tomb hold some of the finest early Ottoman tilework anywhere; the Grand Mosque's twenty domes sit above vast calligraphic panels. Above the city, Uludağ is Türkiye's best-known ski mountain — reachable from Istanbul in around two and a half hours.
Best forOttoman heritage days, winter programmes, short trips from Istanbul
Capital of the Seljuk Sultanate and the city where Rumi lived, wrote and died. His tomb beneath the turquoise-tiled dome remains one of the most visited places in Türkiye — by pilgrims as much as tourists. The Mevlevi sema ceremony originated here; the December festival marking Rumi's death draws visitors from around the world.
Best forSpiritual and cultural itineraries, Seljuk architecture, sema ceremonies
A campaign that shaped four nations. The peninsula holds the beaches, trenches and cemeteries of 1915, where Allied and Ottoman lines sat within metres of each other for eight months. ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine, Chunuk Bair and the Turkish memorial at Çanakkale are visited by Australians, New Zealanders, British and Turkish families alike — often together, which is the remarkable part.
Best forCommemorative travel, ANZAC Day programmes, military history
Nine cities stacked on one mound across more than three thousand years. Schliemann dug into it in 1870 looking for Homer and did considerable damage in the process, but the site remains extraordinary: the walls and ramp of Troy VI, the layered excavation trenches, and a museum that finally does the archaeology justice. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.
Best forClassical literature itineraries, archaeology, combined Gallipoli days
The strongest window. Warm without heat, long daylight, wildflowers across Anatolia, sites busy but bearable. Book accommodation early.
☀️
Jul – Aug
Coastal and yacht season at its peak. Inland sites can exceed 38°C — shift outdoor visits to early morning. Highest prices of the year.
🍂
Sep – Nov
Arguably the best of all: warm sea, softer light, thinner crowds and the clearest ballooning conditions in Cappadocia.
❄️
Dec – Mar
Istanbul in the snow is genuinely beautiful and half-empty. Ski at Uludağ and Erciyes; football training-camp season in Antalya. Best value.

Why Clients Choose The History Travel Agency
Istanbul Expertise, Earned
Our founders have guided in this city since before the agency existed. That shows in the small decisions — which entrance avoids the queue, which hour at which mosque, which restaurant is worth the detour and which is coasting on its view.
Nationwide Operations
122 destinations, from the main tourist corridor to Mardin, Van, Kars and Şanlıurfa. If your programme needs somewhere most operators will not quote for, it is likely somewhere we already work.
Genuinely Customised
We do not start from a catalogue and subtract. We start from your dates, your people and your objective, and build from there — which is slower to quote and considerably better to travel.
Professional Coordination
One named coordinator owns your programme from first inquiry to final departure. You are not handed between departments, and you never have to explain the context twice.
A Human, Not a Portal
Every message is answered by a person who knows your file. Guests repeatedly tell us that the WhatsApp thread with their coordinator mattered more than anything else on the trip.
Historical Depth
The name is not decorative. We were founded by historians and guides, and our programmes are built to explain a place rather than simply deliver you to it.
Flexible Planning
Programmes are revised as often as needed before you commit, and adjusted mid-trip when something changes — a delayed flight, weather, or simply a group that wants a slower afternoon.
Transparent Pricing
Line-by-line quotations so you can see what every element costs, what is optional and where the money is going. No bundled figure that resists examination.
Licensed & Accountable
TÜRSAB licence number 7377, held by Hevra Turizm ve İnşaat Dış Tic. Ltd. Şti. A registered Turkish operator you can verify, invoice and hold to account.

Bengaluru, India · Family trip · reviewed January 2026
★★★★★
Writing about a family holiday in Türkiye, this traveller credits Sebahattin with the planning and organisation of the whole trip, noting that his knowledge of the country produced a far more detailed itinerary than other agents had offered. Domestic flights, transfers, guides and day trips were all arranged by the agency, and contact was maintained throughout the journey.

7-day Cappadocia package · reviewed July 2025
★★★★★
This guest bought a week-long Cappadocia package as a gift for family, and describes the tour as thoroughly enjoyable and the service from Sebahattin and the team as outstanding. The review closes by saying they would happily return to Türkiye with the same agency and recommends it to others.

Singapore · Custom Istanbul itinerary · reviewed June 2023
★★★★★
This couple praise the logic of the sequencing — each attraction placed so the day made sense. When a family member fell ill mid-trip, the itinerary was reworked to allow more rest while still covering everything planned. They mention conversations over Turkish tea at the office, and say they intend to return.

India · Istanbul city tour · reviewed June 2023
★★★★★
A traveller arriving from India describes being in contact with the agency from departure until the return home, and singles out attention to detail — specifically, that the team arranged a proper vegetarian lunch for a family who had been anxious about food. The guide, Mehmet Nehir, is described as calm and exceptional.
Summary of a verified Tripadvisor review. Recurring theme: dietary requirements handled properly.

United States · Full-day private Istanbul tour · reviewed April 2024
★★★★★
This couple write that Mehmet and Sebahattin behaved less like guides and more like hosts showing off their own country. Their day covered the principal mosques and Topkapı with a good lunch in between, and the review describes the price as fair and the recommendation as wholehearted.
Summary of a verified Tripadvisor review. Recurring theme: hosting rather than shepherding.

Personalised multi-city itinerary · reviewed November 2023
★★★★★
This review covers the planning stage as well as the trip, noting that a personalised itinerary was built around the family's specific needs and that the agency remained prompt and professional once they were in the country. The English-speaking guides are described as knowledgeable and friendly, and the transport and hotels as high quality.

Cappadocia tour · reviewed November 2023
★★★★★
Perhaps the most telling review of the set. When a hot air balloon flight was cancelled for weather, the organiser travelled back to the guest's accommodation in person to return the money. Contact was maintained by WhatsApp until the group boarded their flight home, and the Cappadocia guide is named and praised. The review closes at five out of five.
Summary of a verified Tripadvisor review. Recurring theme: refunds handled proactively, without being chased.

Answers Before You Ask
Frequently Asked Questions About VIP Travel in Türkiye
Eighteen questions we are genuinely asked, answered directly — including the ones where the honest answer is "no".
Nine core service lines: private aviation coordination, helicopter transfers and scenic flights, executive ground transportation, luxury yacht and boat charter, luxury hotel and resort sourcing, fine dining and culinary programmes, concierge and personal assistant support, wellness and spa arrangements, and fully customised VIP itineraries. Around these sit our government and diplomatic services, corporate travel management, event management, destination management and licensed guiding. Most clients combine four or five; a full state or championship programme may use every one at once.
Yes. We support ministries, parliamentary delegations, trade missions, municipal visits and accompanying parties for visiting heads of state. That covers protocol planning, official transportation and convoy order, VIP airport assistance, venue sourcing for meetings and signings, interpretation, executive accommodation and liaison with appointed security teams. Programmes are planned in writing with named accountability and rehearsed contingencies, because official schedules change and must be absorbed without the delegation noticing.
Regularly. We work with embassies in Ankara, consulates in Istanbul, Izmir and elsewhere, permanent missions and foreign representative offices. Services include arrival and departure handling for visiting officials, national day receptions, diplomatic dinners, cultural programmes for mission staff and families, and ground transport arrangements held on standing agreement. We are comfortable working under a mission's own confidentiality and data-handling requirements, and under a non-disclosure agreement where that is preferred.
Yes, from twenty people in a private dining room to conventions of several hundred delegates. We act as the destination management company alongside your professional congress organiser, or run the entire event where there is no separate organiser. That includes venue sourcing, delegate transport, accommodation blocks, registration, speaker logistics, exhibition space, technical coordination, catering, social programme and the gala dinner. Our structural advantage is that the same team handles the travel that brings everyone to the event — which removes the supplier seam where most events quietly fail.
Yes, nationwide. The fleet covers executive saloons, VIP minivans with high-back seating, and full-size coaches for larger groups. Airport work includes meet-and-assist inside the terminal, name-board greeting, luggage handling and live flight tracking so drivers wait for delayed arrivals rather than leaving on a scheduled time. Hourly at-disposal hire, cruise port transfers, inter-city road transport and multi-vehicle convoys are all available. Drivers are vetted, briefed on the guest profile and presentation-checked before every assignment.
Yes. On the Bosphorus we charter privately for anything from a two-hour cocktail cruise to a full-day programme, with routings covering the Bosphorus, Golden Horn, Princes' Islands and Black Sea. On the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts we arrange gulet and motor-yacht charters from Bodrum, Fethiye, Marmaris and Göcek. On board we handle catering, live music, photography, corporate branding and swimming stops. Yachts work well for board dinners, receptions, weddings, anniversaries and product launches.
Every professional guide working with us holds a current Ministry of Culture and Tourism licence and carries the identity card to prove it — you may always ask to see it. In Türkiye this is a regulated profession requiring formal training, state examination and continuing professional development; at most major sites an unlicensed person leading a paying group is committing an offence. The agency itself was founded by two working guides, which is why guiding sits at the centre of what we do.
English-speaking licensed guides are available nationwide, and Spanish-speaking guides at all the principal sites including Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus and Pamukkale. Arabic, French, German, Russian and Italian guides can be arranged with reasonable notice, and less common languages are usually possible if we know early enough. For meetings and conferences we arrange separate professional simultaneous or consecutive interpreters, since conference interpreting is a different discipline from guiding and should not be improvised by a guide.
Yes. We work with football, basketball, volleyball, athletics, tennis, aquatics and cycling organisations, plus federations, sponsors and supporters' groups. Services cover squad and staff movement, kit and equipment coordination, training-camp accommodation with pitch access and dedicated dining, meal schedules agreed with performance staff, stadium transfers on police-agreed routes, medical and recovery facilities, media hospitality, VIP lounges, supporter programmes and championship celebrations. Antalya's winter training-camp corridor is a particular specialism.
With dual-scenario planning. A title celebration cannot be confirmed before the result, but it also cannot be built from nothing in forty-eight hours. We hold venues, catering, transport and entertainment under provisional agreements with defined release dates and clearly stated cancellation costs. You pay a modest holding fee for the option. If the result goes your way the celebration is triggered immediately; if not, the holds are released on the agreed terms with no further liability. Everything is set out in writing before you commit.
That is our default way of working — we do not start from a catalogue and subtract. We begin with four questions: how many days you genuinely have on the ground, what must happen, what you would regret missing, and how hard you want to work. The itinerary is built backwards from those answers and revised as often as needed before you commit. Five itinerary families cover most requests: Imperial Istanbul, Cappadocia Luxury Discovery, Archaeological Heritage, Turkish Riviera Escape and Grand Türkiye.
Yes — across 122 destinations. That includes the main corridor of Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus, Pamukkale and Antalya, and also Mardin, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Kars, Van, Trabzon, Safranbolu, Konya, Bursa and the eastern provinces that many operators decline to quote for. As a licensed Turkish DMC our contracts are directly with the hotels, transport companies, guides and venues, which means that when a supplier fails we can replace them the same day rather than passing a complaint up a chain.
Yes. Options include historic hammams with privacy arrangements, the thermal springs at Pamukkale, Yalova and Afyon, coastal medical and wellness resorts in Bodrum and Antalya, and quiet mountain or forest retreats. Wellness works either as the entire purpose of a trip or — our more common recommendation — as a deliberate recovery day inside a demanding itinerary. After four days of archaeological sites, most groups need one, and the rest of the programme is noticeably better for it.
Yes, and Türkiye is unusually well suited to it. An incentive programme needs to feel like a genuine reward rather than a company outing, which means distinctive experiences rather than expensive ones: a sunrise balloon flight over Cappadocia, a private Bosphorus yacht evening, a closed dinner in a restored Ottoman building, a guided walk through Ephesus before it opens to the public. We handle the full programme including flights, accommodation, transport, activities, branding and the awards dinner.
Yes — weddings, henna nights, wedding anniversaries, graduations, birthdays and circumcision celebrations. Destination weddings take place on the Bosphorus, in Cappadocia's valleys, on Bodrum and Fethiye beaches and at Antalya resorts. We manage the venue, guest accommodation, airport transfers, dinner, entertainment, photography and honeymoon continuation, so that the family can attend their own celebration as guests rather than as organisers. Traditional Turkish formats are arranged with proper understanding of their conventions, not as a generic party.
Yes, at Istanbul (IST), Sabiha Gökçen (SAW), Antalya, Izmir, Kayseri, Ankara, Dalaman, Bodrum, Trabzon and other airports. Standard assistance covers a name-board meet inside the terminal, luggage handling and escort to the vehicle. Enhanced service can include fast-track processing, lounge access and, for qualifying delegations at airports that permit it, apron-side meet at the aircraft. What is available varies by airport and by the traveller's status — we will tell you exactly what applies at your arrival point rather than promising in general terms.
It depends on complexity. A private day tour or transfer can often be arranged within twenty-four to forty-eight hours. A week-long custom itinerary is comfortable at four to six weeks. Large events, conferences and weddings want three to six months, because the best venues are contracted well ahead. Peak periods — April to June, September to October, and the Bayram holidays — book out considerably earlier, especially for quality accommodation in Cappadocia. That said, we have delivered programmes at seventy-two hours' notice; ask, and we will tell you honestly whether it can be done well.
Yes, and it is worth being clear about. We are a licensed travel and destination management company, not a security contractor: we do not provide close protection, armoured vehicles or armed personnel, though we coordinate closely with the security teams you appoint. We do not arrange access to sites that are closed for conservation or religious reasons, regardless of budget. We will not build an itinerary we believe is unsafe, disrespectful to a community, or simply too compressed to be enjoyable — we will say so and propose an alternative. And we decline work where the timescale makes a good outcome unrealistic, rather than taking the booking and hoping.

Finding a Travel Agency in Türkiye — What to Look For
Türkiye receives tens of millions of international visitors a year, and an industry that size inevitably contains everything from exceptional operators to businesses that exist only as a website. If you are choosing between agencies — whether for a family holiday or a ministerial visit — there are five checks that will tell you most of what you need to know, and none of them take long.
1. Confirm the licence, not the logo
Every legitimate Turkish travel agency holds a TÜRSAB licence issued under the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies, and that licence number is verifiable. Ours is 7377, held by Hevra Turizm ve İnşaat Dış Tic. Ltd. Şti. A licence means the company is registered, regulated, insured and answerable to a professional body. An operator who is vague when asked for a number has given you a complete answer.
2. Establish who is actually operating your trip
Many companies selling Türkiye holidays are resellers. They take the booking and subcontract the delivery to a local operator you will never speak to. This is not inherently dishonest, but it matters enormously when something goes wrong, because the person with the authority to fix it does not work for the person you can telephone. Ask directly: are you the operator, or are you selling someone else's programme?
3. Insist on licensed guides
Professional guiding in Türkiye is a regulated profession requiring formal training, state examination and a Ministry licence. The difference between a licensed guide and an enthusiastic driver is the difference between understanding a site and merely standing in it. Ask whether guides are licensed and whether you can see the card. A good agency will find the question entirely reasonable.
4. Read the itinerary for what it does not say
A reliable itinerary states which sites are actually entered rather than viewed from outside, which meals are included, what the hotel category means in practice, and what happens in bad weather. Vagueness on these points is rarely accidental. "Panoramic view of the Blue Mosque" means you are not going inside; "similar category hotel" means the property is not confirmed.
5. Judge the first reply
The clearest signal is how an agency responds to your first message. Does a person answer, or a template? Do they ask about your interests and constraints, or push a package? Do they tell you when something is a bad idea? An agency willing to talk you out of a poor plan before taking your money will behave the same way when a decision has to be made at midnight on day six.
A short history of travel in Türkiye
Organised travel here is older than the modern industry by some distance. The Royal Road carried Persian couriers across Anatolia in the sixth century BC. The Silk Road caravanserais — the Seljuk ones still standing between Konya and Cappadocia — were state-built waystations offering merchants three days of free accommodation, stabling and protection, an early and rather generous form of tourism infrastructure. Ottoman hans performed the same function in the cities. In the nineteenth century the Orient Express made Constantinople the glamorous terminus of European rail travel, and Thomas Cook's Nile and Constantinople tours brought the first organised leisure groups. Modern Turkish tourism dates from the 1980s, when the coastal resorts were developed at scale. The History Travel Agency joined that long sequence in 2007 — and named itself accordingly.
