  GALLIPOLI and TROY FROM ISTANBUL

  You will pick up from your hotel, ship to port or any other place agreed upon in early morning around 7.00 am and drive you out of the city with the air conditioned, non smoking van or minibus. Will pass city of Tekirdag in agricultural areas with mixture of sunfolvers fields and vineyards. After four hours driving (320 km) will arrive Gallipoli battle-field. Four hours tour to visit different side of war memorial areas. You will get further information about war from both side, listen the stories and legends. After lunch will cross the Dardanel by ferry and half an hour driving we will visit ruins of Legendary city of Troy where Trojan War took place. Around 6.00 pm we will leave the side to go back to Istanbul. Around 10.00 pm we will drop you to your hotel and complete the service.

  Gallipoli is a peninsula locality in north-western Turkey, north bank of the Dardanel Strait. The Peninsula is the site of extensive First World War battlefields and memorials on the north bank of the Dardanelles Strait. After failure of naval attract in 18th march 1915 Allied (British Empire, France) was planned the Gallipoli Campaign which become so costly for both side Allied Turkish. From 25th april to 5th December 1915 casualties and losses amount to 220,000 with a 59% casualty rate for the Allied forces, and 253,000 with a 60% casualty rate for the Turkish forces.

  Troy is an ancient city in what is now northwestern Turkey, made famous in Homer’s epic poem, the Iliad. According to Iliad, this is where legendary Trojan War took place. Today it is an archaeological site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well. It was also recently declared a national park.
